Industrial processes

In many industrial operations, residual products are generated in the form of sludge, fibrous materials, or other bulk materials that need to be handled efficiently. This can include everything from process sludge in manufacturing industries to by-products from energy, metal, or recycling processes.

Autofric develops and manufactures equipment for the separation, dewatering, and transport of industrial sludge and residual materials. The products are used across a wide range of industries, including paper, pulp, plastics, steel, and food processing.

Sludge Thickening

In many industrial processes, sludge is generated that must be treated before it can be transported or disposed of. An early step in the process is often to concentrate the sludge to reduce its volume and create better conditions for further treatment.

Autofric’s Sludge Thickener ABT is used to efficiently thicken sludge and concentrate solid particles in the process. By reducing the water content at an early stage, subsequent dewatering can be made more efficient.

Polymer Preparation and Dosing

To improve the separation between liquid and solid particles, polymers are often used in the process. Through chemical conditioning, the particles flocculate and form larger structures that are easier to dewater.

Our systems for polymer preparation and dosing ensure that the polymer is properly dissolved and added in the correct amount to the process.

Dewatering Using a Screw Press

After conditioning, the sludge can be dewatered using screw presses. In the press, the sludge is conveyed through several dewatering zones where the liquid is separated from the solid particles.

This technology provides stable and energy-efficient operation while keeping maintenance requirements low. Screw presses can be used in a wide variety of processes where sludge or fibrous materials need to be dewatered.

Transport of Bulk Materials

After dewatering, the material needs to be transported for storage, containers, or further processing within the system.

Autofric’s screw conveyors are used to transport sludge, chips, sand, ash, and other bulk materials horizontally, inclined, or vertically within the facility. The conveyors are customized to meet each plant’s requirements and are designed to handle both abrasive and corrosive environments.

The robust design, combined with low energy consumption and minimal maintenance requirements, makes them a reliable solution for industrial material handling.

By combining thickening, polymer dosing, dewatering, and material transport, Autofric can deliver complete system solutions for handling sludge and residual products in industrial processes.
