Recycling and Waste Treatment
In recycling and waste treatment processes, sludge, fibrous materials, and other residual products are often generated that need to be separated, dewatered, and transported further within the process. Autofric’s solutions are used to streamline this handling. By combining separation, polymer dosing, thickening, dewatering, and transport, residual materials can be treated to reduce volume and make them easier to manage downstream.
Separation of Solid Particles
In many recycling processes, solid particles and fibrous materials must first be separated from liquid flows before further treatment can take place.
For this purpose, equipment such as the Sludge Cleaner ASC can be used. It separates solid particles from liquid flows and produces a more homogeneous sludge for the next process stage.
Sludge Thickening
After separation, the sludge can be thickened to reduce its volume and improve the efficiency of subsequent dewatering.
Autofric’s Sludge Thickener ABT concentrates the sludge by increasing the solids content, thereby creating better conditions for further treatment.
Polymer Preparation and Dosing
To improve the dewatering process, polymers are often added to promote flocculation, making particles easier to separate from the liquid.
Autofric’s polymer preparation and dosing systems ensure that the polymer is properly dissolved and added in the correct amount to the process.
Dewatering Using a Screw Press
Final dewatering is typically carried out using screw presses, where the sludge is mechanically pressed through several dewatering zones.
During the process, liquid is separated from the solid particles, reducing volume and making the material easier to transport and handle further.
Transport in Recycling Processes
In addition to dewatering, recycling facilities require robust transport systems to move materials between different stages of the process.
Autofric’s screw conveyors are used to transport sludge, fibrous materials, and other residual products throughout the facility. The conveyors can be installed horizontally, inclined, or vertically and are customized to suit the facility’s layout and capacity.
Typical applications include:
- Transport of sludge to dewatering
- Handling of dewatered residual materials
- Transport to containers or storage
- Material transport between different process stages
By combining separation, polymer dosing, thickening, dewatering, and transport, Autofric can deliver complete solutions for efficient material handling in recycling processes.
